What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Email/Contact Forms

The only information we collect on the site is the information you input into any forms you use to communicate with us.

Should you send an email, or use the email contact form on the website, your email address, IP address, and any data provided in the contact form or body of the email will be stored in our email server archives.

All web servers track basic information about their visitors. This information includes, but is not limited to, IP addresses, browser details, timestamps and referring pages. None of this information can personally identify specific visitors to this site. The information is tracked for routine administration and maintenance purposes.

Controlling Your Privacy

Note that you can change your browser settings to disable cookies if you have privacy concerns. Disabling cookies for all sites is not recommended as it may interfere with your use of some sites. The best option is to disable or enable cookies on a per-site basis. Consult your browser documentation for instructions on how to block cookies and other tracking mechanisms.

Marketing Campaigns

We use email marketing to communicate with clients and potential clients from time to time. All email lists and campaigns are “opt-in” meaning we will not send you these sorts of emails unless you indicated that you wish to receive them during signup or other interactions on our website or if you gave verbal consent.

All marketing emails sent by us will include an unsubscribe link in the footer of the email. Emails sent to you may also include standard tracking, including open and click activities. We use Webb Weavers Consulting’s WebbMail for email marketing. Webb Weavers Consulting’s privacy policy is found here.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Where necessary, we use cookies to store information about a visitor’s preferences and history in order to better serve the visitor and/or present the visitor with customized content.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

Links to purchase books from online retailers are included on the website. When you click to purchase a book from one of these retailers your purchase will be processed on their website. Following are links to these retailers’ privacy policies:

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

We may store your contact information that you submit indefinitely so we can contact you later. Individuals can request copies of any previous correspondence with us at any time.

We NEVER sell or share that information with anyone outside the company.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left comments you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
